Sunnyside Neighborhood Association Board Elections – May 11th

Every year in May the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association holds its annual general membership meeting.  This meeting is a little different than the average meeting because neighbors vote for the SNA board of directors.   This year, the board election will be held on May 11th 2017, starting around 7:00PM at the Sunnyside Community House (3520 SE Yamhill St) in the Social Room on the first floor.

We will be electing 4 board positions this year and there are currently two declared candidates.

Special Bylaws Membership Meeting: April 17

Hello Sunnyside Neighbors!

At our March 9th meeting, the SNA board referred amended bylaws to the General Membership for ratification.

We will have a General Membership Meeting to vote on bylaws on Monday, April 17th, 2017 from 7-8PM at the dining hall of the Sunnyside Community House at 3520 SE Yamhill St.

In order to amend our bylaws, we must have a General Membership meeting with a quorum of 20 eligible residents (anyone 18+ who lives in Sunnyside [rent or own], owns property in Sunnyside, or is a designated representative of a church, school, or business, can vote).  A 2/3 vote of approval is required.  If approved, the bylaws will go into effect in June 2017.

SNA Board Submits Bylaws For Comment

Hello Neighbors,

A lengthy process to review and update our bylaws is coming to an end.  At our January 12, 2017 meeting, the SNA Board voted to present proposed bylaws to the general membership for comment.

There will be an open house on February 13th from 6-7PM at Southeast Uplift (3534 SE Main St.)

Volunteer for the Belmont Street Fair

The Belmont Street Fair is an annual showcase of  Sunnyside’s Main Street. This wonderful all-day event can’t happen without the help of dozens of volunteers.

the Belmont Area Business Association is looking for volunteers to help with setup, clean-up and support throughout the day.  Can you spare some time to ensure this event goes off without a hitch?

The Belmont Street Fair will take place on September 10th, 2016.
