Agenda:
We’ll be providing an update on the traffic safety improvements on Hawthorne, and then discussing other places in Sunnyside that could use improvements.

No Hate Resolution

Hello, Neighbors –

We want our neighbors to feel safe and accepted in our great neighborhood, so last night the Sunnyside Neighborhood Board voted unanimously to support a No Hate Resolution that includes a statement of inclusivity along with an action geared toward learning ways to support our neighbors who may identify with a marginalized community.

Follow the link below to see the full resolution language. If there are certain community advocacy groups that the Board could invite to come share strategies/resources, feel free to suggest.

February LUTC Meeting

Tentative Agenda:
– Lydia Ness and Dan Everhart from Restore Oregon will be sharing with us local and state level policies around historic preservation. Their input is intended to help us better understand different approaches to redevelopment being currently demonstrated on Belmont – 3334 Belmont & 3701 Belmont – and what new policies might be brought forward in the future.

Tentative Agenda:
– Following up on the positive response from PBOT at last month’s meeting on the topic of street safety we will hear from Gwen Shaw, a transportation engineer and representative of Better Block PDX. The purpose of this meeting is to explore how temporary, short-term actions can lead to long-term positive change.
