Sunnyside Winter Gear Drive for our Houseless Neighbors

January is a great time to clean out your closet—and your basement. What still brings you joy and what can you pass along to someone less fortunate? The Sunnyside Neighborhood Association encourages you to donate lightly used and even some new items for our Winter Gear Drive. People who are living outside, in particular, need rainproof clothing, boots, and coats to keep them dry and warm for the cold months ahead.

As a community, it’s important that we ensure everyone has basic survival needs. The Sunnyside Neighborhood Association greatly appreciates your support and generosity.

We’ll be collecting clothes and items for the Winter Gear Drive on Saturday the 23rd (10am – 2pm). Drop-off is in the parking lot of SE Uplift (3534 SE Main St, Portland, OR 97214). COVID precautions are in effect and require that masks be worn at all times during the drop-off process.

Please donate new or lightly worn items that have been laundered. Here are the items we’ll be accepting:

** Wool is always preferred as it’s a natural breathing fiber that handles well in the rain.
