March Land Use & Transportation Committee

An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is a small, self-contained dwelling that shares the site of a larger single-unit home.  For demographic, affordability, and environmental reasons, specific suggestions (See Enhanced Housing Choices letter here) have been proposed that urge the City to amend land use code in favor of expanding smaller sized housing choices in residential zones.

Come discuss these specific suggestions at the next LUTC meeting on Monday March 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Southeast Uplift building (3534 SE Main St).

The Sunnyside Neighborhood Association Board will be asked to pass a resolution in support of this language at the next meeting on Thursday March 13.

October Land Use and Transportation Meeting

Hello Sunnyside,

The upcoming Land Use and Transportation (LUT) meeting, October 14th at 7:30PM (at Southeast Uplift) is one you might want to put on your calendar.

We have requested the developer for the proposed project at 700 SE Cesar Chavez Blvd to follow up on their LUT briefing from last May during the first half hour of the October meeting.  David Mullens of Urban Development Group is proposing a 3 story project on SE Cesar Chavez which will include on-site parking.  Details reported earlier this year call for 108 units (16 Studio, 74 One Bedroom, and 18 Two Bedroom units) and 40 on site parking spaces.

The second half hour of the October meeting will involve a discussion of land use and transportation aspirations as a lead into the October 17th “neighborhood visioning” event at the Mazamas Mountaineering Center, located at 417 SE 43rd, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Land Use and Transportation Agenda for May Includes Meeting With Two Developers

Hello Sunnyside,

The upcoming Land Use and Transportation meeting, May 13th at 7:30PM (at Southeast Uplift) is one you might want to put on your calendar.

Developers for two proposed projects, one at 2808 SE Belmont St. and the other at 700 SE Cesar Chavez Blvd. have requested to meet with the neighbors about their plans.

David Mullens of Urban Development Group is proposing a 3 story project on SE Cesar Chavez which will include on-site parking.  Details, as reported by the Oregonian, call for 108 units (16 Studio, 74 One Bedroom, and 18 Two Bedroom units) and 40 on site parking spaces.

Urban Visions plans to demolish the existing residential structure at 2808 SE Belmont St. and divide the lot into 4 separate lots with single family residences on each new lot.

Currently these are the only items on the agenda and each developer will be given up to 25 minutes to present and answer questions.
